What it is: The Nissan Leaf is a pure battery-electric hatchback. It is available in three trim levels — S, SV and SL — and competes against the BMW i3, Chevrolet Bolt, Mitsubishi i-MiEV and Volkswagen e-Golf.
The base S trim level gets a 30-kilowatt-hour battery pack that increases the EPA-estimated driving range from 84 to 107 miles.
